About Us!

What We Do:
Deseret Education is a learning and research partner with some of the world’s leading educational institutions.
We are partners for two primary reasons:
The founding members of Deseret Education recognised a decline in availability of quality education for graduate and postgraduate students within the Southern African Development community. Competing with privately funded institutions was not feasible given the enormous capital investment required to develop and maintain a viable, reputable institution when the current immediate needs were so great. Further, the restrictions and requirements of regional socio-political influence were a major stumbling block to the reputation and confidence in many African based institutions which were previously considered prestigious.
A solution presented itself when the founding committee elected to explore the possibility of leveraging the reputation and experience of African Leaders of commerce, business, science and engineering who having graduated from the World’s leading and most respected Institutions would mentor carefully selected promising wards (because this is how we see our students) from all walks of life.
Deseret Education was established by an experienced team of successful educators and proven mentors who work together with sponsoring world renowned institutions and faculties as well as recognised institutes of professional excellence to deliver an un-paralleled environment for development, enlightenment and research of key specialised scholastic pursuits. The team of Educators work as facilitators to enhance the learning environment and provide guidance and support for each ward as they embark and journey along this adventure of self-discovery in the quest for knowledge and innovation.
After graduation Deseret Education stays a part of the wards further development by encouraging reciprocally beneficial social and professional relationships with both mentors and new young professionals to facilitate an ever expanding global network of recognised and respected graduates who become tomorrow’s captains of industry, innovation and leadership.

We provide access to leading universities for students who would otherwise have no hope of attending these prestigious institutions. These students study in their home countries and are mentored by graduate professionals and research fellows while upholding the strict quality standards of the sponsoring institution. For these sponsors it’s like having a campus in Africa without the administration and logistical commitment. The Institutions set their own standards and requirements we administer, manage and report. With virtual classroom technology the students are able to attend lectures, and meet and collaborate with Lecturers, TA’s and fellow students face to face. Think of it as an outreach program for higher learning institutions.
We provide support and resources for post graduate studies that would otherwise make these efforts complex and distract from the focus of these studies. Foreign research can often be plagued by frustration associated with politics, ethnic differences, differences in public and private business practice, labour practices, legislation, and typical logistical considerations such as sourcing and purchasing, transportation etc. Think of us as the modern day expedition support crew.
